On December 10th, the ski resort is hosting the Gnu Greenhorn Games which invites kids 13 and under to compete in a snowboard contest with lots of prizes. December 7, 2011 - Ride is hosting their third annual Ride Shakedown event at Snoqualmie, WA in March 16-17. The event has gained a lot of attention in the last few years with an attendance of 5,000 people at last year’s event. November 30, 2011 - The Nanshan Open celebrates its 10th consecutive year in Beijing on January 14-15. Not only has it already been a decade since this event has helped promote snowboarding in China, TTR recently gave the Nanshan Open a 5Star status increasing its significance as the biggest snowboard event in Asia. This event has pushed snowboarding in China to the next level and will continue to provide up and coming snowboarders a chance to compete with other riders. -G.W.

They are cooperating efforts to make sustainable fabrics out of recycled plastic bottles in hopes that it will change the way outerwear is currently made. November 17, 2011 - ESPN - The long debate between FIS (International Ski Federation) and TTR finally came to an end with FIS rejecting TTR’s plans of partnering up together to determine the Olympic qualification process. This has come as a disappointment for the entire snowboard community especially those in the competition circuit. As explained by Sebatien Toutant, who has medaled in both TTR and FIS events, “Between the Dew Tour, the X Games, the FIS, and the TTR -- it's impossible to compete in them all.” Other pro riders such as Chas Guldemond have also expressed their disappointment at FIS’s uncooperative efforts. –G.W.
